The Discoveries database contains information on New Field Discoveries, Extension and Unproduced Discoveries announced in the press, but not yet listed by the BOEM. Sources for these discoveries are generally press releases or other articles in popular news outlets or company websites.
Discoveries are differentiated from Prospects in that the article will refer to discovered hydrocarbons.

Purpose

Analysis for oil and gas production and exploration in the Gulf of Mexico.
