Abstract

The series database covers the first-order divisions of stratigraphy in the Gulf. Each series is represented by an outline polygon, indicating the areal extent of the distribution of sediments of that geologic age. As part of the National Oil and Gas Assessment, in 1996, MMS reported on the discovered and undiscovered oil and gas resources at the series level as of December 31, 1994.

Purpose

Analysis for oil and gas exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico.
